History

The genesis of Rowhouse Architects can be traced to the friendship of Jeff Dalton and Jason Moss.

Freshmen at Georgia Tech, the two continued their friendship through graduate school and programs in London. In 1993, they began to collaborate professionally on several projects and followed with the founding of their firm.

Early projects concentrated on renovation of existing buildings, establishing the loft housing market for Atlanta. As the firm has grown to include offices in Atlanta and Asheville, their projects have expanded throughout the southeast.

The firms expertise in adaptive reuse and historic rehabilitation has been sought to create housing and commercial projects in several outlying communities. With an understanding of Historic Tax Credits and finance alternatives, the firm is able to tailor developments to communities, developers and lenders.

An example is Newnan Lofts; the lender established a tax credit reclamation program and sought out projects to fit its model.

Thus, Rowhouse was linked to the owner/contractor and housing developer to set up a team to produce the project. This role is currently expanding in the southeast.
Other areas of work are in the western Carolinas, where we have completed several large homes and are concentrating on work for vacation communities and elderly housing.

New ventures for the firm are in the retail/ commercial market and new housing developments.
